Area Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Cars, walls and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were notified during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.
The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they reported.
Police then discovered many other smeared cars and house walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Police state initial examinations suggest the substance was probably human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; investigators are presently not informed of any harm in association with the event," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were working "to resolve the case" and have requested to the community for details.
A high-ranking political figure commented the vandalism left him stunned and had to be solved rapidly.
"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on social media, recalling the death of nine people by a assailant targeting individuals of migrant background in 2020.
