I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former two time world boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
